Wendy Curtis |Student with HCC – The Horticultural Correspondence College

Wendy has been a long standing student of the HCC and has enrolled on 16 courses.

She’s been a student since 2008 and has stayed with the college during the transitional period between the old HCC office and our new school in Devon.

As a result of her studies she has now been able to join the Professional Gardeners Guild, the Gardeners Guild and has been accepted as a member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture. She is now about to start on a post-graduate course in Garden Design.

We have asked Wendy for a short statement about her studies:

“I first started studying with HCC in 2008 because I needed to think about a new career and because I was interested in Gardening but didn’t want to go to college that I started the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture and the course was so good that I decided to do another one and I was hooked. Even through the upheaval and the changes that occurred at HCC I stuck with it and did more courses including Garden Design and recently Conservation Studies. And it hasn’t stopped there.

The Tutors and Staff go out of their way to help with any questions or any requests that might arise and they are dealt with straight away.

The courses have enabled me to join professional organisations including the Professional Gardeners Guild, The Gardeners Guild and to be accepted as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.

The knowledge that I have gained has helped me in my professional life as a gardener running a successful Gardening Business”
