Here’s a radical idea, discussed at our last Council meeting. We are thinking of changing the name of the Association.
‘ABCC’, no longer standing for the original Association of British Correspondence Colleges, was adopted a few years ago and seemed like a good idea at the time, but we find that it doesn’t describe what we do, which makes it hard to interest people in our activities and services .
Suggestions have included:
- Association of Distance Learning Colleges
- British Association of Distance Learning Colleges
- Association of British Distance Learning Colleges
and variations on this theme. We’d be very glad to hear the opinion of any of our Members, Life Members, Associates, students, learners, friends, or anyone interested. What do you think?
The formal change of name will have to wait for the AGM next March, but it would be very good to have the new name settled as soon as possible. We will need to change the domain name and logo, too, but we will cross those bridges a little later.
