Brian McVean of Ideal Schools, with one of the several ICB Luca Awards won by the school and its students this year. Brian is enthroned in the Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor of London.
This seems to happen every year! Congratulations to our lovely Member College, whose staff and students won the following awards at the ICB LUCA Awards at Mansion House in London last night –
Tutor of the Year – Scot Vanden Akker
Best Use of Social Media – Ideal Schools
Student of the Year – Terry Ramm
Large Booking Practice – Michelle Smith
All in all, a very successful night!
The LUCA Awards are the ‘Oscars’ of the bookkeeping profession and are presented in recognition of the year’s outstanding bookkeepers and the many organisations that complement the valuable work that they do. Each winner is presented with a Luca Award by HRH Prince Michael of Kent. The Luca Awards are exclusive statuettes of Luca Pacioli, the Cistercian monk who is credited with inventing the process of double entry bookkeeping that endures today.
This year, coinciding with its 20th anniversary, ICB was invited by the Lord Mayor to host its ceremony at the Mansion House in the City of London.
