If your results are not all you hoped for, retaking after studying by Distance Learning is a very real alternative to another year at school. Studying in your own time, at your own pace, offers all sorts of interesting possibilities. A part-time job? Volunteering, in an area that means a lot to you? Travel, seeing the world on the proverbial shoe-string? A gap year with a difference, at the end of which you sit your exams again, with a new perspective on life and maybe better motivation than you had in the sixth form.
